My Background.
For as long as I can remember, I've felt drawn to look below the surface of everyday life, compelled by longings and emotions that I've always felt deeply but haven't always known how to be with, or even name. Religion and spirituality often felt more like committing to a set of static intellectual beliefs rather than a back-and-forth encounter with a Divine Mystery full of life, emotional complexity and a deep love for diversity.
My experience of spiritual direction and contemplative practice has given me a more intentional, open and generous framework for exploring the landscapes of my inner life and holding space for others to do the same. In my practice, I'm particularly drawn to embodied approaches of self-awareness and spirituality, and the wisdom available to us by being attentive to the natural world around us.
My training as a spiritual director is through Soulstream, and I practice according to the Guidelines for Ethical Conduct of Spiritual Directors International.

My current "day job" is a back office role in a small business collaboration with two old friends, in the weird and wacky world of electricity importing and exporting.
I've been the buyer at an independent outdoor retail shop, a CEO for an international non-profit, an HR Director for a family of software/marketing/consulting companies, a global conflict researcher and a tree planting supervisor.

I have Bachelor's degrees in Biblical Studies and Philosophy, and a Master's degree in International Politics.
I feel most myself when I'm outside, whether I'm paddling the local rivers, scrambling a local peak, sailing the BC coast or sitting and listening to the birds. I'm also a voracious reader.
